OUR STORY

At Greensboro Power Studios, we are committed to being your third place. Beyond home and work, we’ve created a space where you can come to feel supported, empowered, and part of something bigger. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll know you belong. Through the heat and flow of power yoga and the intensity of small-group strength training, we deliver more than just workouts—we offer challenge, presence, growth, and connection. Each time you step onto your mat or pick up a weight is not only an investment in your health and wellness, but also an opportunity to shape the life you want and to root yourself in a community that feels like home.

Meet Our Owner

Hi, I’m Mia! I am an Enneagram 7w8 who grew up as a dancer in Atlanta, GA, and went to Auburn University. I lived up north for 7 years, met my husband, and we flew back South to Greensboro just in time for the birth of our oldest daughter in 2015.

In 2016, I walked in the doors of 301 State Street and never looked back. Power Yoga and this community became my home away from home. I immediately immersed myself in all the things - 40 Days, Ambassadorship, Teacher Training, Membership Advisor, Ambassador Team Lead, and in 2017 I received my RYT-200 and began teaching. With a background in dance and previous experience teaching other styles of fitness, I felt like I had discovered a missing piece of myself.

In 2018, my youngest daughter was born. As a new Mom of two, I quickly realized that I needed yoga and community more than ever.

In 2020 (before the world shut down), I traveled to Sedona, AZ to complete my Level One training with Baron Baptiste. That fall, amidst a global pandemic, I completed Baron’s first-ever virtual Level Two training and received my Baptiste Certification.

The pandemic wreaked havoc on all our lives but the one constant in my life was yoga. I continued to practice, teach, and in 2021 I launched a wellness retreat business called Power in Your Pause.

On the 10th Anniversary of our community in 2023, I became the exceptionally proud owner of Greensboro Power Yoga. In 2024, I launched a strength-training concept alongside a dynamic team of teachers and students who were looking for something to compliment their yoga practice, enter Greensboro Power Strength. And now, a year after we opened Strength, we could not be more excited about bringing everything we know and love under one roof. I have practiced, taught, sweat, laughed, and cried with this community since 2016 and it is a dream come true to carry this studio into the future with a renewed sense of connection and community.
