  • RYT 200 from Level Above Yoga School (2024)

    1. How were you first introduced to yoga? I first started practicing yoga in college as a way to de-stress and find balance. When I moved to North Carolina, GPY’s corporate yoga program came to my workplace and reignited that love. Yoga has always been what grounds me when life feels like it’s pulling me in a thousand directions.

    2. What’s the most surprising lesson yoga has taught you?
That true strength doesn’t always have to be loud. It can be quiet, steady, and deeply rooted.

    3. What’s something students might be surprised to know about you?
I’m a bit of a thrill seeker! I love chasing adventures and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.

    4. What’s a book, song, or podcast that’s inspired you and/or your teaching lately?
I’m often inspired by the podcasts On Purpose with Jay Shetty and The Mel Robbins Podcast. They always spark new insights about growth, mindset, and living with intention.

    5. What does Greensboro Power Yoga mean to you?
To me, GPY is more than a studio, it’s a community that meets you exactly where you are, and encourages you to show up unapologetically as yourself.

    6. What song always gets you moving?
September by Earth, Wind & Fire. It’s impossible not to smile and dance when that song comes on!

    7. If you could teach a class anywhere in the world, where would it be?
On the beaches of Mykonos flowing with the sound of the sea, the breeze on my skin and the salt air filling each breath - that would be pure magic!

    2. What is your favorite yoga pose? Crow! Specifically because of how much work I had to do (physically and mentally) to work towards this pose. I had to become comfortable with the idea that I might (and definitely did) fall, and now every time I lift my feet off of the ground and balance on my hands, it's a reminder of how important it is to trust the process and to be okay with falling.

    3. What does Greensboro Power Yoga/Strength mean to you? Community, support, and respect. I first found GPY when I was newer to fitness, and I was very nervous about walking into a space where I didn't know what to expect and who was working out alongside me. And, even with those nerves, I was able to feel that I was in a place that wasn't judging me. So even though I now have many years and many credentials under my belt, it's important to me that I'm affiliated with organizations that show everyone - no matter their size, ability, or experience - that they are worthy of being in the room and taking up space.
